The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA), in partnership with the American Public Health Association (APHA), is pleased to announce the 2016 GIS and Health Symposium. The theme for this year’s Symposium is “Mapping the Way to Healthy Communities”. Attend to discuss and share information about the important topics impacting the health of our communities worldwide and how GIS is being used as to facilitate decisions and action.

Alyssa Randall is a GIS Analyst and Environmental Scientist at Planning Communities in Raleigh, North Carolina. Her work mostly includes climate action planning, community and environmental impact assessment and equity analysis. She has a background in coastal science and environmental education. Alyssa currently serves as the chair of the Partnerships Working Group for the Community Resilience Task Force and is also a member of URISA’s Vanguard Cabinet Steering Committee. You may also know her as the “Mapper Rapper”, spreading GIS knowledge one rhyme at a time.
